       I really can't take a project started in the last 5 years seriously if it's written in PHP.   This isn't language bigotry, it's painful experience distilled into taste.

       @mark Yeah, except ~20 years. When I started using it on my old blog, I knew it was inferior to even Perl CGI, but deployment was easier, and I had no free time.And now I'm running Wordpress, which is insane. Unlikely for them to see sense and rewrite in a real language now, but most alternatives are even worse designed.
