Be careful, the running joke here is that Scotsmen are merely Dutchmen who swam 
across the Northsea because they were too cheap to pay the ferry.
 
Plus in a dialect here, "a clough" is a wooden shoe ... and you do know the 
land of the wooden shoes, right? 8-)
