Where I am could not be BH> anymore opposite than that. I ramble here to go that if I didn't have my I know the feeling. My boss doesn't know what I do, or anything about it. The boss isn't even in the same country or time zone. I remember attempting to talk about IT solutions, and just stuff I was interested in that hadn't become super mainstream, and the IT people just looked at me like I was on another planet. Something about the business unit we support causes most people to hide, deny, or reject their IT computing profession or passion. Some of the people attempted to buy expensive golf equipment, talk about golf while sucking at it, and never ever being accepted by the business for anything more than service crew. They/we were called "my IT guy." I think the IT crew felt low in the hierachy. On team meetings when I share my screen some of them call it the matrix. Its just a simple terminal accessing some RHEL system or who knows what nothing out of the ordinary, but they struggle with stuff like ping-ing ICMP echo another computer. Some of them created amazing and useful web applications, but as I said rejected their IT roots, ... except one of them, although he didn't talk about it much he was hardcore. He retired and currently restores pinball and old arcade systems. Sure do wish there were more computer people where I work, but I can say I'm luck to be where I am. I also wish I had a real POTS line, I did do some stuff with my USR 56k over the network via an SPA 122, and an opensource pbx. BH> cubes, I don't know how I could do it. You've gone to far to exit without that retirement. BBsing, Sysop of Lunar Outpost, lunarout.sycnhro.net --- SBBSecho 3.37-Linux * Origin: Lunar Outpost - lunarout.synchro.net (1:138/397) .
