When I worked at the VA (Department of Veterans Affairs), that mentality
seemed to infect the majority of people.  None of them enjoyed what they
were doing; they were just there to collect a paycheck and work towards
retirement.  I couldn't do that.

I left the VA due to my becoming disabled and not because I hated my job.

Now trying to on-topicize: I am looking for IT work for the fist time in
seven years and so far I've found several jobs I'm quite interested in.
