I was a corporate phone guy for years; I always love peeking in when I see a telco tech working on a B-Box, those locking line distribution cabinets you see scattered around neighborhoods. I saw one in my neighborhood open recently with a cherry picker parked nearby. Slowed down to look in the cabinet, and it was all fiber. I didn't see a single pair of cross-connect wire. I'm looking to get internet for my cabin up in the mountains. It's near Lake Tahoe, the switching office is about 3 miles away. They used to offer DSL with dial tone, but now they eliminated the dial tone, changed the name and raised the price. Gotta love AT&T! ....
