It sounds like for whatever reason the geocode API is not validating "Port Charlotte, FL" for you, even though it validates for me just fine. So I just committed a fix that uses the system's IP address in case of any issue using the system's location. Please download the latest wxcenter.js from GitHub and overwrite the old one on your system.
