Just goto VMWare and grab ESXi on ARM for Pi. This is actually really neat, and I was looking at a few videos about that too before I make the purchase of said RPi... the ESXi installation is only for 6 months though, after that you "have" to pay for a license, which is putting me off. On my current hypervisor I run Proxmox VE which is free, unless I want support or enterprise solutions and then it costs. I thought VMWare did an offering like that, but everywhere I look since reading your initial message seems to suggest that ESXi is not free after 6 months use. Still a very interesting project, and I am wondering if I can get Proxmox on the RPi, if so... that's what I will get a RPi for. 8GB ram and quad core should make it a really nice system for hosting containers and virtualising lots of stuff. Get a couple and one could make a cluster.
