I don't use ESXi as much as you - I don't have a powerful enough server to run daily driver stuff; but depending on speed of an RPi 1gb & 8gb, I might do a headless for my BBS too - for the ease factor; I currently use ssh/VLC, but if it were all in one it would be simpler for sure. We'll see, thats a lot of overhead for a Pi.
