I'm in the same boat as you. Have you looked at the Affinity apps? They're 
$50/each one-time and often go on sale for less than that. The apps are great, 
and they have 98% of the feature set of the Adobe stuff. Affinity Photos for 
raster graphics and Affinity Designer for vector.
