I use SyncTerm in most cases but often I turn up my 86box or whatever VM may work for you with MS-DOS and I set packet driver and mTCP with patched version of telnet builds (telnetnu.exe) and it works superb with all ANSI boards, it can also render SIXELS and works with YMODEM/G quite well.

It's better than SyncTerm if you want to turn off the SDL texture filtering to see the text sharp vs blurred. For me it's more old fashioned and that's one of the reasons why I like to telnet from internet connected MS-DOS.
