With each drop in version, with fractional scaling on, the performance would have "slight" improvement with 515 being about the best of the bunch; however not any better then the xserver third party driver that mint/ubuntu like to install as default. Turning fractional scaling was the only real and best solution for this particular machine (and many others according to the responses on Ubuntu's support blogs ...) It'll be nice when these these "better then Windows" GUI projects receive the attention they deserve regarding multiple monitor support and (ahem) casting. BUT, I'm totally ok adjusting the size of "things" using the font settings, etc. as that is what we had to do with the RPI with (I believe) Buster Distro.
