I tried ProxMox many, many years ago and only for a short time. I was checking 
it out, but coming from a VMware background it didnt stick with me. Must admit 
I do like VMware and I pretty much put it on anything that it'll run on. that I have it on the Pi4's. ;)

(I have a QNAP which I installed TrueNAS on - and upgraded it this weekend, 
when I came across a post that it somebody installed VMware on it - and I'm 
tempted.)

When I get some time, I should give Proxmox another go, its probably come a 
long way since I played with it.
