Meta might have just spoiled its Meta Connect reveals including 2 new pairs of smart glasses Date: Tue, 16 Sep 2025 14:16:26 +0000 Description: Metas entire Connect smart glasses lineup has seemingly been spoiled by a video posted to its own YouTube channel. FULL STORY ======================================================================Meta might have just spoiled two smart glasses reveals from Connect They appeared in a now deleted video on its YouTube channel A third new pair of glasses might have also been shown off You hate to see it. Well, unless youre a tech journalist who thrives on covering leaks. Thats because Metas entire Connect smart glasses lineup has seemingly been spoiled by a video posted to its own YouTube channel (which has subsequently been hidden). Were just over a day away from Meta Connect 2025 at the time of writing, and based on other leaks and comments from Metas CTO and CEO, we've been expecting a smart glasses heavy showcase. (Image credit: Meta) That looks to be the case: as UploadVR reports, a video that briefly appeared on Metas social media showcased a pair of glasses called the Meta Ray-Ban Display , alongside a brief overview of its whole lineup, which includes a pair with a visor design two frames that were previously leaked. The display frames look like chunky Wayfarers, but in exchange for a slightly doofier design youll seemingly get some impressive new features like an on-screen map overlay for directions, and translations that appear over the text you cant understand among others. They also look to be controlled by some kind of wristband which was also leaked with a similar band being used to control Metas Orion prototype glasses. This frame was also teased earlier this year to be a sporty smart glasses design developed in collaboration with Oakley. Ill be the first to admit that I had simply assumed these glasses had been canned in place of the HSTN design we got instead, but it seems Meta is simply giving us two Oakley frames in one year. (Image credit: Meta) Unfortunately the trailer doesnt reveal much about this visor beyond its look, though when it was leaked, it was suggested itll boast some sporty integrations and features. Well have to wait and see what Meta announces officially to know if thats still the case, and how it manifests. On that note, as with all leaks, we should take this video with a pinch of salt. That said, considering the clip was posted to Metas own YouTube channel Im leaning towards this being an oopsie on Metas part and revealing a few too many gadgets early. Thankfully, we only have a day left to find out if this leak is real or not. A third pair of smart glasses approaches? (Image credit: Meta) While there are two obvious additions to the Meta smart glasses lineup, theres one other pair I want to highlight, and thats the blue Ray-Bans sandwiched between the Oakley specs in the image above. Thats because Meta doesnt currently offer blue Meta Ray-Bans, and I dont believe it ever sold opaque blue frames like we see here only ever translucent blue frames. Its possible Meta will simply announce new colorways for its Ray-Ban smart specs but, as Ive been saying for months , I think its launching upgraded Ray-Bans Id bet these are those improved specs. The upgrades, in my mind, would simply bring the Ray-Bans inline with the Oakley HSTN glasses by equipping them with the new and improved camera, and the better battery life, that Metas latest smart glasses offer. Again well have to wait and see what Meta has up its sleeve, and how much these two or three new pairs cost, but this leak has only made me more excited to tune into Meta Connect leaving me wondering if it wasnt an intentional 'accident' to build up hype.
