HYPERBOLIC COMET NISHIMURA: A new comet is falling into the solar system,
and it may become a naked-eye object next month. Discovered only days ago by
an amateur astronomer in Japan, Comet Nishimura (C/2023 P1) is on a hyperbolic
orbit from deep space; it hasn't been here before. Fresh comets are notoriously
unpredictable. This one could brighten dramatically (or fall apart, or fizzle)
