Me> What made you choose straight Debian over Ubuntu? What was the thought Me> process behind it? Well, the only distro that I've used on a production system had been Ubuntu. I wanted something stable, without a lot of the bloat. I also felt it was good to stick with a debian based system, as that's what I know. Not decided yet, but it's just an Me> idea at this moment. I've been looking at many distros in the last few months. Manjaro is one of ones that I really like. I do have it running in a VM, but decided to not run it as the primary os, as there are still a lot of things I don't know about it. For example, I know on a debian based system, I can type 'sudo apt update && sudo apt install python-dateutil python-tz'. When it comes to pacman, I'm not familiar with all of the commands yet There were actually a lot of differences just between Ubuntu and Debian. I figure, I'm still a newbie at Linux, I'd better wait for a bit... :) Me> I was also toying with the idea of creating another BBS using something Me> entirely different for the BBS server software, instead of Mystic, Me> perhaps give Enigma another go or maybe find something else. I did see For awhile, I was running Mystic, Synchronet, ENiGMA, and Magicka. I was trying to get WWIV to work, but was running into issues. I wanted to see how the setup was for each of them, so that I could speak objectively about them. I'm still running 2 copies of Mystic, and a copy of Synchronet.
