I've never had a license, but had a receiver once years ago, it was fun
listening to people out there. Of course I couldn't transmit, but I never
knew anyone to talk to anyway, so it wasn't a big deal.

Kind of like wireless eh? lol I know what you mean, I was always curious
about packet radio, and the BBSes run on it.

I think the first thing is to find a club, thats how I got the receiver,
someone was kind to lend me theirs, but I am sure that they would be
willing to help you with your test and so on. I'm sure vk3jed will pipe
in on this :)
