Oh my gosh I'm such a dunce!!
I recreated my BBS VM, everything is working fine except the ability to send
echo/net mail right....

looked in the logs must have been over and over for days, today I thought, I
wonder if "zip" isn't installed... 

checked unzip from the cli, works fine ...
checked zip, ...

Command 'zip' not found, but can be installed with:

apt install zip

Ahhhhh, apt install zip... send test message, boom!
I think aside from my missing files I had, everything works now.


My brain hurts lol.
