In recent times, only for formal stuff, like giving the employer notice that 
I've had enough. Also making sure they'd need to sign for it, so there's no 
denying ;)

On a personal level, that must be like almost 30 years ago, writing with a 
vacation friend for a few years. That was nice (and before bbs'ing and the 
interwebs.
