Just read up on BLC1, since apparently I wasn't paying attention when this was originally announced. I read some articles, including: https://sites.psu.edu/astrowright/2020/12/20/blc1-a-candidate-signal-around-pro xima/ and https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2020/12/31/breakthrough-listen-seti-tech nosignatures/ It's very interesting that the signal, so far, has passed every test designed to rule out "local" interferance. That's exiciting. But apparently it's still expected to be some sort of interference, and not alien life. Also the signal hasn't repeated since it was originally seen. I'm optimistic now that we have an automated machine learning based ability to sort thru these types of signals -- thanks to the "Breakthru Listen" project. If they can continue to piggyback on the radio telescopes and process data in bulk -- it seems like we have a chance of spotting a true "technosignature".
