I've really been enjoying Mastodon.  I have an account at mstdn.ca which has 
really taken off here in Canada.  Some prominent Canadian politicians and 
organizations have accounts there.

During the mass Twitter exodus the server was receiving thousands of new 
registrations per day and really started to fall over.  The Canadian Internet
Registration Authority (CIRA) who oversees the registration of .ca domain names 




















































































offered them a grant to beef up their infrastructure.  At one point there were 
over 11,000 active users, it looks like this has settled down to about 7,000 
active users.

It's been neat playing with the CLI tool, the same jokes & horoscopes that I 
post to FTNs I also post to Mastodon.  My instance has a 500 character limit so 




















































































certain things like weather forecasts are difficult to post unless I include 
everything in an image (like from wttr.in).
