I know what you mean. Northwest both in OR and WA is just one big, sprawling 
piece of beauty. Both cites and towns and nature, regardless if you drive 
heading the ocean or mountains, and the border river (Columbia) is just 
spectacular.

I been only driving through Portland once, heading south and I found all the 
nature more or less the same, just the city less focused on skyscrapers than 
Seattle, where I lived for a moment. 

But yeah, raining in that part of the world makes English weather sunny. That's
