I've got a 2012 MacBook Pro 15" Retina that is still kicking (just) and a 2013 
Lenovo ThinkPad T440P that is in almost new condition. Knock on wood they've 
never not worked and I can see them lasting another bunch of years too.

The MBP is running the latest OS it is allowed to get from Apple (MacOS 
something) and the ThinkPad is running Arch, both laptops work great for me 
when I need to use them. They were both my daily drivers until about 4 years 
ago.
