Hey fang, if you have correctly pointed the domain using either CNAME records 
or A records to the same as tos.synchronetbbs.org, and you can access the 
website on tos.synchronetbbs.org you should definitely be able to access 
anything on that host including the bbs.

Here's my process to troubleshoot this;

$ host tos.synchronetbbs.org
tos.synchronetbbs.org has address 172.104.36.52
tos.synchronetbbs.org mail is handled by 10 tos.synchronetbbs.org.

$ host harbingerofsubstrate.com
harbingerofsubstrate.com has address 3.33.152.147
harbingerofsubstrate.com has address 15.197.142.173

Firstly we see that the domains have different addresses, this will be why you 
can't get to the BBS from that new domain. You should use a CNAME record for 
the domain to point to tos.synchronetbbs.org so that it is the same.

$ dig -t a tos.synchronetbbs.org +short
172.104.36.52
$ dig -t a harbingerofsubstrate.com +short
3.33.152.147
15.197.142.173
