Their website shows a 'worldwide' page... heres the lineup of Dolch Rugged machines: web.archive.org/web/19991128232101/http://www.dolch.com/html/portables.html I found mine on OfferUp; and I see them on eBay from time to time, altho on eBay the prices are always stupid insane. ho> pa> The GPU is a Viper 535 (or 353 - I can't remember and I don't wanna g ho> pa> look at the card. :P) - its a VGA, but nothing fancy... it'll play Do ho> ho> If with UniVBE you can confirm it has at least VESA 1.2 then this would ho> be a very legitimate graphics card for 486DX, but of course if its VGA ho> is fast and can do Doom in 70Hz then it's obviously a superior MS-DOS ho> retro gaming and computing platform. Yea, it has no issues playing titles from DOOM to Terminal Velocity to Quake, even. (Altho Quake is unplayable on the 486...) And since the machine is in such a cool package its almost like the perfect retro-machine. The *one* thing that it lacked, because of its original purpose, is a sound card... like Curious Marc showed on Youtube, I intend to install a 16bit SoundBlaster and then wire in a small amplifier and internal speaker so it has sound... thats coming. :P ho> If you have packet driver for MTCP the I believe you can also get it ho> connected to BBSes, have you tested that? Yep; I can run mTCP over a WiFi modem - and I believe I could get mTCP running over the network card with ethernet, too - but I haven't ran through that yet... I'm sure its possible, tho, as I HAVE used its stock Packer Sniffer Network Analyzation software over the network card and it grabs packets just fine!!! |07p|15AULIE|1142|07o |08......... --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A48 (Linux/64) * Origin: 2o fOr beeRS bbs>>>20ForBeers.com:1337 (1337:3/129) .
