I drove a truck driver Saturday to walmart. He was telling me about his house in NOva Scotia. He's in the country and 100% off the grid. His solar array and batteries give him all the electricity he needs. He also jars all his veggies, and grows as much himself on his land. He's "80% self sustaining", and working on becoming more and more. The one thing holding him back now is just getting enough battery storage to run a deep freeze for the summer months. He currently only turns on his small fridge when it's very very hot, the rest of the time things go in the cold room. Was a hell of an interesting guy. Drives transport 5 months in the winter and farms / plays with batteries in the summer (as he says). Shawn --- GoldED+/EMX 1.1.5-b20110320 * Origin: Tiny's BBS - tinysbbs.com (9:91/7) .
