After I got off work at Toyota in Buffalo, WV I made it home to Elkview exit
off I-79 around 5 a.m. At that time I decided to try to save my brother Josh
from the K-mart on the now Crossings Island Shopping Center. I went down from
the collapsed bridge/road to the car wash to find the secondary wash out
bridge, which involves walking up a steep super muddy hillside. After the
trek up the mudslide, I walked across lot to K-Mart to find my brother Joshua
sleeping back in the matress section barricaded with pillows, making him a
little pillow fort. He was happy to see me and we proceeded to make our
escape home. The following 6 hours travel through the woods and across flood
water in a motorized v-shaped john boat finally led me home to Fluph's home
residence (my Dad's house) which thankfully was still there mostly dry. The
journey I fell could be a great survivalist magazine article. I'm on the way
now up into the woods again to recover my glasses that fell off during the
ordeal. Wish me luck :)
