Yes, But it killed me to part with something that I held onto for so long
knowing that it will only grow in value. While paper money looses value. I
needed, a reliable car at the time.. more them the Silver coins.

I've heard that visiting a Bank in China they have vending machines where you
can trade paper money for gold/silver coins. I'll take a guess that you'll
never see that happen in the US banking system. If this is true, what exactly
does his tell me about China knowing, what is valuable or extremely valuable.
They know the trillion dollar debit the US owns them is loosing value plus
can't or will never be paid. Maybe that is why Bill Clinton gave China the Deep
 Water Sea port in Long Beach/SanDiego in the 90's? Just google real estate
bought by China in past 10 years. How long it takes for the US to be bought by
foreigners investors is only a matter of time. I degress.. but still perpare
for a worst case scenario ...Whether it's the Banking system or some other type
 of a SHTF disaster ever happens. It will always be good to be self reliant.
