Is everyone is planning on planting a garden this year.  Year after year 
we've seen our culture in decline.  I have a very bad feeling about this 
year.. One does not have to do much reading to learn that a world war 
may be brewing.  And even CNN, a mainstream tool of propaganda, is 
featuring conservative guests who are preaching doom and gloom for the 
financial markets.  In short..things are looking rather bad right now..

I'll be dehydrating more than canning/freezing this year.  Dehydrated 
stuff lasts longer as there is less chance for spoilage, it is lighter 
and easier to transport and if the power gets shut off the freezer isn't 
much help.  I often put my dehydrated veggies into vacuumed packed jars 
or bags.  I've had good luck doing so in the past.
