SMERSH was a unit in Soviet intelligence who's mandate was/is to seek out the
spies who are spying against Russia and kill them.  There are sleeper cells
in every economically stable nation.  One favorite is to use Thallium to kill
a person and not have the cause of their deaths immediately obvious.  They
infiltrate Christian churches, befriend those who have anti-Russian political
leanings, get them alone and poison their coffees.  Russian foreign policy is
illegal and immoral, resorting to murder rather than civilized diplomacy.
