Subj : CBRN's Threat To : All From : warmfuzzy Date : Wed Jun 19 2019 23:34:58 Chemical - Biological - Radiological - Nuclear This set of threats represent the worst of the worst case scenarios. But are they something we really need to worry about? Short answer: YES. They are written here in no particular order in regards to severity, all being potentially catastrophic. A chemical might be a deadly nerve agent that kills thousands, a biological threat could kill millions with some currently present germ or an engineered germ. Radiological threats would be Alpha, Beta, and Gamma radiation, the worst of these being Gamma radiation that can rip through several meters of concrete (not exaggerating). Nuclear threats are the ones thought to be the most dangerous of all. With nuclear war its not just the people that die but the world itself. You could take out a middlee-sized nation with a single bomb. Chemicals are the most easy to procure. You could hire a grad student at a university who is sympathetic to a certain terrorist cause and make something that if inhaled could literally kill multiple thousands of people in a single attack. There are so many ways CBRN attacks could go. Be prepared as far as possible and trust but verify the questionable things in this world. The best option to deal with CBRN threats is through prevention. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If terrorists were reached out with the Christian Gospel for example, before they were radicalized what they do would not have been done. People have a need to be a part of something special, so give them something special to do. The world will thank you for it.
