You might have heard in the news about Novichok, the agent reported to be
around eight times the potency of VX.  These are used when the government
wants to make a clear signal that they are behind the poisionings... but
there are some instances where they would like to watch an opposition agent
die slowly and without the knowledge of why they're dying at all.  Meet the
miniturized ionizing radiation emitters.  Variants of these are used when
testing the shielding in TEMPEST shielded Faraday Cage rooms.  In the normal
use of these transmitters they are placed inside a secure room and the door
is closed and people with near field recievers go around the outside of the
room to see if any radiation leaks out.  If it does, then they fix the
problem and certify the room as secure.  But what if those little devices are
aimed at a target from a nearby house, where a directional microwave
transmitter is set to poision the victim over the air and leaving no trace
that anyone ever practiced this type of assassination.  One the one hand,
with novichok it is very evident and on the opposite side of the spectrum is
microwave weaponry which is very hard to detect, especially in a situtation
where such an attack would not be anticipated.  Something to think about. 
Assassins are asses.  Life is too precious to take away from anyone.  I
personally do not believe in the death penalty under any circumstance.  As a
Christian I believe the risks are too high in sending a person to Hell, as
there is no getting out of that prison in the grand scheme of things, and
from a practical position I think that every person can be used to work for
the friendly forces, having knowledge and skills that make them more valuable
alive than dead.  Punishments brought about by governments, even twenty-five
year sentences are a blessing in comparison with the death penalty as a
damned person can never work their way free or be forgiven for what they have
done if they die in a position of not receiving God's forgiveness and free
gift of eternal life.

It would be interesting to write an article on the punishments for
Sp00k-related crimes and compare the penalties from country to country.  I
think I'll write this article somewhere in the near future.

Some people would take offense at this article because a Christian viewpoint
was expressed.  Personally, I don't give a hoot whether people get offended
by my inclusion of the Christian perspective as its possible to be so
politically correct that you are totally incorrect.  If I think that God's
punishment is too severe to let people die before they are saved, that's my
perogative and I make no apologies.  I have enemies and I wouldn't make even
the worst of those face the death penalty because I care for the souls of my
enemies.  Eternity in a furnace of fire in a deep pit of a lake of fire is too
extreme to have happen to anyone without first having a long life and plenty of
opportunities of the free gift of forgiveness and life in paradise.

Back to the mini microwave transmitters, for whatever reason they are rumored
to be transmitting on 2.1GHz at 2 MegaWatts (2000 watts).  If I were to make
them I would select 5 GHz as it would possibly be thought of as WiFi, however
these are on an unused frequency with a helluva lot of power.  To compare
this consider a microwave oven, often transmitting at a power of 1,200 watts
and being shielded.  Even with the shielding tons of microwaves escape into
the environment.  This tech though is not shielded at all, sending a full 2
MW into the air to kill the victim.

through observations back around a decade ago.  Indeed, none of my articles
