Subj : Purpose, Influence, and Value

How is it that the Freemasons have lodges in just about every major city throughout The West?  They offer their association with people in a way that offers the new recruits purpose, influence, and power.  Business opportunities pop up from these men's clubs.  Business is given to friends and "brothers" without those jobs getting advertised outside of the organization.  People feel that they are serving a higher purpose in the Lodge, and that's not entirely a fiction.  I have known a very generous Freemason in the last few years and he has made people's lives much better from the use of technology gifts and inexpensive sales.  Sometimes it can feel like family and feels really rewarding.  However, this can be a slippery slope as with secret societies there is often not a check and balance to make sure its activities are as they should be.

What I'm writing here, the reason for it, is to make clear that secret societies can be very useful for society, however that some of them can be highly malevolent.  Just watch out for yourself when joining organizations.  Some are good, some not so much.  I think that it would be best practice to pray about it and don't say yes or no immediately.  A life changing thing should always be thought upon, "not my will but your will be done;" as said by Jesus Christ to God The Father.  This quotation is regarding Jesus praying to His Father in submission to His will.  So what's the take-away from this? Its that you need to take some time to decide what to do when given a life-changing opportunity and consider in depth whether you think it its right to join up.
