Subj : Societies that Seem to be Both Sides of Issues

Watching a bar fight, there is a distinct difference between picking one side to champion, recoiling away from teh whole conflict, or egging on BOTH sides.

The egging on both sides can been seen in the governmental, NGO, banking, fraternal organization, and large business world.

It is as if the very structures we expect to mitigate and hopefully resolve conflict have instead taken pouring fuel on the fire as their mission number one.

Some short examples:

Current Law Enforcement is somehow okay with instigating as well as thwarting criminal events.  They somehow expect we would applaud them as the firefighter when they openly are the arsonist.

A second example in Law Enforcement at the political level, the conflicts of supporting & funding policing are countered by defund & disparage by the same politicians.  Like the Roman deity Janus, they present two conflicting "faces."

An advertising example, big brand businesses cultivate the demographics that spend money with them, while openly cultivating racist positions in opposition to their "golden goose" demgraphics.  Salt in the wound, they then claim virtue in their creating brand dissent.

A military one:  The organizations with the mandate to provide both defense and viable offensive capabilities have chosen to set that mandate on the back burner, subsituting social adventures focused on non-mission societal issues. Then to complicated it further they allow subcontracting some of their original mission outside of the uniformed military to contractors and paramilitary groups run my intelligence agencies.  

A data security issue that the government and big business talk about individuals' right to expect data security at the same time they route most traffic outside of the country so it can be exploited by contractors and government level partners, AND run secret programs using nuances of legalese to breach the privacy they speak of supporting.

There are thousands of such examples touching every aspect of our lives.

Are these conundrums more to create mental conflicts, or to profit from the wasted energy used in dealing with the discord?  Or are they simply to keep us both physically and mentally busy?
