Anyone can join, so long as they are male, and have a belief in a supreme being. For me, I always sort of doubted my own belief in a supreme being. I basically justified it in my own mind as a belief in "whatever force created the universe". That being said, freemasonry isn't about worshipping and religion -- at least it shouldn't be. dj> of the conspiracy theories about freemasonry are made up to encourage dj> more interest and when one finds the truth that there is no conspiracy dj> the novelty is lost unless you enjoy the club and the people . :D Yeah the conspiracy theories are laughable. Back before the US was free from Britain, lodges were safe places for men to plan the revolution. Nowadays, it's mostly older men arguing over the lodge electric bill, or planning the next BBQ chicken fundraiser. Not sure where you're located, but hopefully the lodges there do more education and esoteric study, rather than just make more masons and have chicken dinner fundraisers. That was ultimately why I left. I was on track to become the master of my local lodge, but the lack of any real substance and the amount of time it was costing me became frustrating. I just didn't believe in it anymore. Not all lodges are like that. The ones around here are just not what I was looking for. YMMV. --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A38 2018/01/01 (Raspberry Pi/32) * Origin: Alcoholiday / Est. 1995 / alco.bbs.io (700:100/3) .
