You never really leave. My dues ($150 a year where I am) are currently still
paid up, but I don't think I will be renewing in the upcoming year.

I'm not current in my Scottish and York Rite dues either ($150 and $75
respectively).

You see, that's where they get you. You want to get more involved, you pay
more. If you want to be a big shot and join all the Masonic bodies, be
prepared to spend a shitload in dues every year for that experience.
