This problem is one we recognize from the local beat cop who gets a bit "badge-heavy" on up.

There is even a "hierarchy among badges" sort of game in the LEO (Law Enforcement Officer) world.

Open use of the entire actual organizations to play "badge-heavy" fortunatley until now has been fairly rare, possibly excepting the mechanations of Hoover's FBI.  

Now is it happening over and over, in the light of day, and with few reprocussions. 

Our world is NOT the better for this mischief, and it mocks the mechanisms of government at most every level.
