Subj : The Best Linux Anti-Virus Solutions To : All From : warmfuzzy Date : Tue Feb 12 2019 21:44:13 I've found a new very well done anti virus called ESET NOD32 4 Anti Virus. I've been able to pick up copies of this software from eBay for under ten dollars per year, actually the price was more like five dollars. I figure that the company has approved this to get the customers that can't afford the regular price. Its a more sophisticated system than standard certificate validation systems, requiring a user name and password, which are both provided from the eBay sellers, so I figure they would have had to have access to the key-making system to produce this combination of authentication. Anyways, five dollars for a years subscription is amazing. The most amazing part is that its available for Linux!! I've tried Sophos Antivirus and it deleted some conference audio from one of the HOPE conferences --- I don't need nannyware but antivirus software so Sophos was quickly thrown out. Comodo was alright except that it kept stopping scans half way through... and the best part: ESET NOD32 FOR LINUX CAN BE WORKED FROM A COMMAND LINE SO THAT ITS SCANNING CAN BE ACTIVATED/STARTED FROM THE COMMAND LINE. THIS CAN BE USED WITH MYSTIC BBS OR WHATEVER OTHER BBS SOFTWARE TO SCAN UPLOADS. BitDefender and F-PROT also exist, which are well done... however when it comes to an antivirus software package I want to get the best of the best as a virus infection could be horrible. BitDefender is also a commercial product, which I have not tried. If anyone has experience with it please let me know. However, I've already found the ultimate software in NOD32, so it wouldn't change my mind on which is the best for my needs. https://www.eset.com/int/home/antivirus-linux/ --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A39 2018/04/21 (Linux/64) * Origin: Sp00knet Master Hub [PHATstar] (700:100/0) .
