There is a Linux distribution meant for ethical hacking (though it can be
used for any kind of hacking).  It is basically the new version of BackTrack
Linux.  Its site is at www.kali.org.  It is *the* penetration testing package
out there.  It is available as an .ISO file that you can burn on DVD and boot
into on system startup.
