Subj : Waiwei Phones and Hardware Backdoors

Its been in the news alot this past several months.  The Western nations are
against the development of Waiweh phones due to suspicion about there being
back doors in the hardware.  Is this really the case though?  Is it possible,
well certainly yes, but more than likely it is getting the thumbs down
because it competes directly with western technology and the West wants to
use its own companies to power its communication systems.  Intelligence isn't
just catching spies but promoting the economic well-being of your nation and
seeking the promotion of your domestic technology over foreign imports. 
Economic security can often be considered national security as a nation's
economy determines whether they have the resources to win a war if it ever
came to that.
