You might be right there.  God wouldn't forbid something for no good reason, so there must be some legitimate reason for these things to be restricted.  Pork can go bad really fast, alcohol can cause cancer or liver problems, gambling is a misuse of money, junk food gives heart attacks, and soda causes diabetes, and aspartame in diet soda can make you sick... so when Jesus Christ comes back I think that we would be strongly recommended not to partake, though not cut out of our diets completely...
