This relates to the two covenants.  That Covenant in the Old Testament was for
the people of that time, while the New Covenant it a far better and greater covenant.  Especially the having to slaughter animals as sacrifices to God.  Wouldn't that be a problem?  I'm not saying anything against God, but I'm acknowledging how very much better The New Covenant is where we no longer need to send up burnt offerings as Jesus Christ became an offering for all,without end and complete, our sin being put on Him and He forgiving us.

Yes, some devout religious people owned and beat slaves, not so long ago, and this was in America.  There are racists and evil people who put on a cloak of righteousness who poorly represent our Faith.  Not everyone who calls themselves a person of God is actually what they claim.
