So maybe I'm the only one here, but I wonder what Putin wants to accomplish with his wars against Ukraine.  Seriously though, he's razing the place to the ground.  If he wanted to get the fertile land then why would he raze it?  Russia had promised that if they transfer all of their nuclear weapons to Russia then Russia will never invade Ukraine.  They were given the word of Russia that this thing that is happening right now will never happen.

Was Russia frightened by the power of the Ukrainian government and people? Surely not.  Those two countries were also very different in military capability, one a world power armed to the teeth, the other a simple peace loving country that didn't attack anybody nor having a significant armed forces.

SVR agents are pushing the idea that the Ukrainian government, since way back in the day until now, are deeply corrupt.  They seem to be in an echo chamber, believing the Russian lie.  They are fervently aggressive in countering the arguments that Western people bring to the conversation.  Seriously though they are particularly venomous against Ukraine even though their countries are brothers one to the other.  These folks are forcefully eager in defending the Russian position.  It is rather wild to hear of.  One person actually said that Putin was a far better Christian than anything in The West.

Granted the above statement can't be properly sourced, since identities are not given, but this is how it is.

So what does Putin want?

He wants power, recognition, land, and Russia to be the world leader and back in the position of super power.  He may have the ability to do these things that he seeks after.  He doesn't simply want to be "a" world power, but "the" world power.
