When I get involved in MRC, it was for the gettogethers, not as a go-to
communications medium. It still uses a star/hub model, correct? There
are so many federated models out there that there's bound to be a better
medium for comms outside of the scope of gettogethers and movie-watching
parties like we did on MRC.

What is Hypernode? A Google search pulls up an ecommerce company in the
EU somewhere.

If PHATStar set up an IRC server on the network, Synchronet and Mystic
both come with an IRC client and non-BBS clients could connect, too.
It'd be pretty simple on Synchronet, for example, to create a separate
menu option for a different IRC server, I'd think.
