Subj : your permanent record on the net To : All From : warmfuzzy Date : Tue May 07 2024 17:53:33 On the Internet it is said that nothing entirely disappears. Everything you type into the big machine AKA the cloud AKA everything, is stored for an indefinite period of time. E-mail service providers offer unlimited mail storage for ever, and after a person physically dies their messages remain online without end. All of the stupid antics of childhood and being a teenager will remain on the Internet systems at some place, and so you will be known as you were as a kid, even though you may have been an adult for several decades. Your past will haunt you. This is why it is good for forgive and forget, but on the Internet the machines never forget and your enemies never forgive because your deeds are on there for anyone to browse. You have a permanent record. I know that I have some things in my past that need forgiving and forgetting. Luckily I've stayed away from Facebook and Twitter. You won't find any posts from me on these two "services." However, if I was someone who had used these social media platforms I may never live down some of my antics. Even for people like myself who shuns social media, there is still LinkedIn, which helps people network for the acquisition of jobs, so the system tries to mess with you from all angles. My suggestion: boycott social media. You're out nothing and you will have peace of mind. Get a real life and have your real life consist of real-world stuff, not being a sucker for social-permanence.
