How to detect massive catastrophes...

There was a project done several years back to see what phenomenon would change a random number generator into a non-random data stream.  Initially they produced zero useful results.  However, the day of September 11th and a few days prior the RND # Gens were spiking non-random data.  Something was happening that could be detected paranormally.  The RND # Gen sensors were placed all around the world and could be measured via a central location where the data was sent to.

It is probable that these random number generators were designed for the use of detecting UAP technology, not to detect major world catastrophes.  The project produced measurable and profound results.  So somehow world changing events can be measured before and during the terrors are about to be unleashed.  It is doubtful that this has been peer-reviewed, however, using such tech seems simple enough.  It would be a good project to explore and publish the peer-review in Fortean Times.
