When I have personally asked medical folk how they can tell the differing
strains from each other, I have heard "we don't have the technology locally
or at our lab, so we are told to assume it is Delta"

They "assume" ??!!

What rubish quackery.  

Begs the question is there even a discernable Delta variant in the first
place?

Newest "Fear Porn" is now the Chile orgined "Lamba Variant" - like if they
can't ID Delta they can ID Lamba?
