I do wonder if the current regime would be capable of deploying the same game a second time. At some level those that rule need the public to accept and buy in to the program and the coof did not have the buy in that I think they thought they would have.

The propaganda regime went into overdrive and while I think it worked, up to a point, the lack of actual dead bodies killed the operation, so to speak. Funny enough I think the overbearing nature of the propaganda actually worked against the powers that be. While they are skilled in the powers of persuasion I think they were more skilled twenty years ago and better still forty years ago.

I think western civilization is suffering a competence collapse at all levels. Although you are correct that this situation should be watched. Despite any possible issues it would be foolish to underestimate them.
