Lets introduce the world's second BBS-connected File Distribution Network
(FDN). ArchaicNet was the first of these and is still in use on some boards.
PHATstar took the idea to heart and made their own FDN - the difference?
AnonArchivers has 3 TBs of data on a 1 Gbit pipe and 16 terabytes of file
storage space via a VNC link that can push 10Mbits.  It is not a public
service, but rather a system offered to certain sysops who have shown
dedication to their BBS systems.  You will need to be offered connection
privileges by the PHATstar Society. You need a static IP address to bridge
your system to the FDN.  This has to do with a whitelist that only allows
pre-approved systems access to the server. The system is big now, having 2
TBs filled with excellent content, growing day to day, utliizing storage once
we find quality files to fill it with.  As with all things PHATstar, it is
not a public service but rather a system offered to the elite and friends of
the Society. You can expect to see it go public in mid-November.  Proper
respect goes out to ArchaicNet, who gave me the idea of how to hack a file
distro net out of a MysticBBS shell.
