For several years the best crypto software was TrueCrypt, however it was
closed-source and it was eventually removed from being available from some
unknown reason.  However, now steps in something new and better.  With all
the features of TrueCrypt plus some new features and security patches lets
welcome VeraCrypt --- based on TrueCrypt, but open source and more secure...

And it works on Linux, Mac, Windows, BSD, RaspPi, and in source-code for
anyone who's using a system not listed.

This software is able to do whole-disk encryption, steganographic file
allocation, use several crypto schemes, double or triple up one algorithm on
top of another, and its interface is easy to understand and use.
