Subj : Proton Mail : Secure Webmail Comms To : All From : warmfuzzy Date : Tue Apr 11 2023 21:05:34 I have noticed a lot of people who I chat with share their proton.me e-mail addresses with me. It came to a point where I had to check it out on my own. to see what all the holler was about. It turns out that there are two main modes of operation for proton.me. The first is secure comms using the regular e-mail transport system and the second is to communicate with one another where both ends of the conversation are both logged on and using Proton Mail. Some shameless plugs are listed below: 1. Proton Mail is protected by multiple layers of security and trusted by journalists, security experts, and millions of people around the world. 2. Proton believes your data belongs to you. That?s why we use end-to-end encryption and zero-access encryption to ensure that only you can read your emails. We cannot read or give anyone else access to your emails. And this encryption happens automatically ? no special software or tech skills required. 3. With Proton Mail, emails are encrypted at all times, so we can never access your messages. The content of your emails is encrypted on your device before being sent to our servers, meaning only you and your intended recipient can decrypt it. You can also use our Password-protected Emails feature to quickly send end-to-end encrypted emails to any email address, not just Proton Mail accounts. I have made an account on Proton Mail to check it out and be able to give an educated review of this web software. It looks like its stable code, the user experience is good, and there are several levels of encryption being used to secure your personal/private/secret communications that make me rate this highly. The GUI is particularly nice; it doesn't require a degree to figure out how to use this safely. I like this tech.
